Can I trade the news?

• Alpine Pass: yes, with no restrictions.
• Alpine 2-Step: with the News & Weekend add-on, yes. Without it, you may not open or close trades from 5 minutes before to 5 minutes after high-impact news.
• Alpine 1-Step: no. The same 5-minute window applies, and there is no add-on for it.

High-impact news means the red-folder events in the Forex Factory calendar. Only news for the currencies in what you trade counts: EURUSD is affected by EUR and USD news, gold and US indices by USD news. All-day events, tentative events and events without an exact time do not count. A stop loss, take profit or automation that fires in the window counts as a trade. Holding a trade through the news is fine. Breaking the rule ends a 2-Step or 1-Step account.
